Bishop of the Lutheran Church graces a meeting called by the new Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Jinja city

The National Presiding Bishop of the Lutheran Church the Rt. Rev. Charles Isabirye Bameka today graced a stakeholders’ meeting called by the new Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Jinja city Maj. David Matovu.

The meeting held at Jinja city hall was attended by among others politicians, technical staff, business community, cultural and religious leaders.

The bishop who led an opening devotion, challenged the public to respect those in power. He based his sermon on Romams13:1-7 “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority expect that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves”…..  and Titus 3:1— Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and show true humility toward all men
