The Resident City Comminsioner (RCC) Jinja City, Maj. David Matovu has coomended the Lutheran Church of Uganda for supplementing on government efforts to spur development in the country.
Maj. Matovu made the remarks while adressing Christians of Nakabango Lutheran Church during the instatallation of a Church council.
He was much impressed to learn that on top of spreading the Gospel, the Church is also engagged in other development projects such as construction of Schools, Clinics, drilling of boreholds among other income generating activities.
The National Presiding Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Uganda, the Rt. Rev. Charles Isabirye Bameka challenged the newly installed Church council members to deligently perform thier duties as saying its a calling from God. The man of God also emphasized a need for the church council to work as a team in the Proclamation of God's Word.
The Church Council is a congregational structure that is responsible for the daily functions of the Congregation. Nakabango Church council is being headed by Waiswa Eric as the Chairperson and Mwebaza Daniel as the Vice man.
